The mission of the BronzeLens Film Festival of Atlanta, Georgia is two fold: to promote Atlanta as the new film mecca for people of color; and to showcase films and provide networking opportunities that will develop the next generation of filmmakers. Love it!
In addition, there will be BronzeLens expert master classes, workshops, domestic and international film screenings and signature events during this one of a kind film festival. So luxe!

Always take time to reflect, pray and regroup. It helps to put things in perspective so you can make the best decisions.
And speaking of taking time, I have been taking a little hiatus from writing to get my personal life in order. There have been a lot of changes in my life and I will share all the big news with you lovely Divas soon!
One change that has been occurring is that I have made a commitment to wear my hair in its natural state more often than not. Although I do not have any chemicals in my hair, I do get it blowed out and pressed… a lot. But this Summer, I was inspired by my daughter and all the other natural hair care divas to wear my hair in its naturally curly state with no heat. It has been an adventure!
It was a hard transition, but thank goodness I found the right products to make the transition easier. Urbanella Brands Hair Care offers products that work amazingly well for women with natural hair and for those of us who want to transition to wearing our natural hair.
Urbanella Brands was founded 10 years ago and the mission of the company has been to help the world go natural! The founder of Urbanella Brands, Keneesha Hudson, has made it her goal to educate women on how to work with their texturized hair.
As a matter of fact, my first introduction to the brand was a visit to the Urbanella salon to receive a consultation and education session on how to transition to wearing my natural hair. While at the salon, I also received a “luxe” hair care experience which included, shampoo, deep conditioning and a natural hair care style using all the Urbanbella hair care products.
Isn’t the salon gorgeous??!!!
What I absolutely love about the Urbanella Brands line of hair care products is that they are all natural, super moisturizing and makes natural texturized hair look great! The products make your hair feel soft while also defining curls. In addition, after using the products, your hair has this amazing shine! The products that I loved the most was from the line’s Signature Series. This series features hydrating shampoos, conditioners and moisturizing styling products that create the perfect natural hair cares styles. Check them out below:
Non-Lather Cleanser – this peppermint infused shampoo deeply cleanses your scalp and prevents clogged follicles. It also gently removes build-up and debris while giving you moisturized hair. I use this shampoo once a week and it woks wonders. It leaves my hair soft and super clean.
Hydrating Conditioner – The Hydrating Conditioner glides through your tangled hair like melted butter, making it easy for you to manage your hair. This has to be the best conditioner I have ever used. When I use it, I don’t have to worry about a lot of tangled knots and shedding. I use it on my daughter’s hair and it gets all the tangles out and it also leaves our hair so light, bouncy and smooth. Love it!
Hydrating Moisturizing Cream – I use this cream on my hair and daughter’s hair for setting our hair with braids and twists. It is super moisturizing but also has the right amount of hold to hold curly styles together.
Here are a couple of pictures of our hair using the Urbanella Brands Signature Series:
Another great line of products by the Urbanella Brand is the Hand Crafted Series that features true wash and go formulas for natural texturized hair. Urbanbella aims to help all naturals master the Wash-N-Go for their natural hair. And the Hand Crafted Series does just that!
One of their best sellers to achieve true and beautiful Wash-N-Go hair is the Urbanella No.49 Cre’Gel. This Urbanbella Botanical Gel Blend gives great curl definition! It is great for wash-n-go styles, fingerstyles, twist sets and many more stylish textured hair-do’s. You simply wash and condition your hair using the Signature Series hydrating shampoo and conditioner. Then you use a palm size amount of the Cre’Gel and run it through your hair using your fingertips to lengthen and define curls. Lastly, you sit under the dryer for about 10-20 minutes and your curls are set and define! Yeah! It is so simple and easy and it is a style that will maintain for at least a week. If you don’t believe me, you must check out this video tutorial. Amazing!
Urbanella Brands has other wonderful hair care products for every type of hair texture, style and lifestyle. There is the Signature Series Hair Shine Butter to maintain styles and The Handcrafted Series Sunflower Shea Hair Milk that hydrates and creates soft and natural curls. I have used these products to maintain my natural hair style and just to add moisture or shine. They smell amazing and do not make your hair hard or sticky. Im sold!
If you are interested in learning more about Urbanella Brands hair care products, you can visit their website and check out their live tutorials on their Facebook Page and YouTube Channel. Be sure to follow Urbanbella on all social media handles (Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest) to get updates on when they will be live to answer your natural hair questions. You can purchase their products online and prices range from $19-$22 per product. I will say that I have been using the products for two months and I still have so much product left. The wonderful thing about Urbanbella Brands products is that you do not have to use a lot to achieve desired results!
Lastly, if you are looking to transition to wearing your natural hair, I highly recommend you visit the Urbanella salon for a natural hair consultation to help you understand your natural hair and how to best achieve your ultimate natural style.
The salon is located at:

If you have Faith, all adverse and bad situations are temporary. If you preserve, it always gets better!
If you don’t know, Krog Street Market has become one of Atlanta’s premier shopping and dining venues in the city. One great aspect of Krog Street Market are the many restaurants and bars. Last week I had the pleasure of tasting the new menu at The Cockentrice.
The Cockentrice has been in Krog Street market for a year and the menu previously was more meat focused featuring succulent meats such as pork, beef and lamb. Now the menu has expanded a bit and features more seafood, poultry and vegetarian options.
Some of the menu highlights include:
Shishito Peppers & Duck Egg
Cauliflower Thai Beef Salad
Short Rib Melt
Peach, Arugula, Gruyere and Coppa Flatbread
Toulouse Stuffed Roasted Hen
The new menu is simply delicious and has something for everyone. Love it!
Another cool aspect of The Cockentrice is the cocktail menu. The Cockentrice has experienced mixologists that create the most delicious and creative libations.
One of my favorites is this Peach Sprtiz cocktail. It is made with proseco, fresh Georgia peach juice and cappaletti. It is cool and super refreshing. Yum!
Check out some cool pics from the tasting. So luxe!
The Cockentrice’s hours are:
Tuesday – Thursday: 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Friday – Saturday: 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Sunday: 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Life is what you make it. Make it great!
Last week I had the amazing opportunity to race the new Ford GT350 at Atlanta’s premier Formula 1 track, Atlanta Motorsports Park.
Ford Motor Company’s, Ford Performance division, introduced the new Ford GT350 in a big way via the 2016 Shelby GT350 Consumer Track Event Tour. This event came to Atlanta and featured in-depth educational sessions, technological demonstrations, and of course fast and powerful driving!
When we arrived at Atlanta Motorsports Park we were greeted with breakfast and much needed water. It was a hot day!
We then had the pleasure of listening to an amazing presentation by the President of Ford Performance’s division who gave us in-depth information on the history of the Shelby GT350. Carroll Shelby, car designer and racer, designed the Mustang Shelby GT350 in 1965. Since it’s inception, the Shelby Mustang GT350 has become a premier racing and consumer performance vehicle. The car has been off the market for the past 50 years, but now it is back bigger and better!
The vehicle’s features are:
500 Horsepower, wowza!
400 lb-ft of torque
Six Speed Manual.
After our presentation, we had safety training by professional experienced drivers. They instructed us on how to drive the vehicle at top speed, how to take corners on the track and of course to remain safe. More importantly, we were instructed to always listen to our instructors, who would ride with us while on the track. After our safety training, I was so read to go!
Driving the Shelby Mustang GT350 on the Atlanta Motorsports Park was an experience to remember! First the sound of the engine is simply sick!!…but in a good way. It just growls and growls and can be heard miles away. Love it! After a couple of laps around at our top speed of 100 miles per hour, I relaxed and started taking the sharp turns on the track at top speed. The great thing about the GT350 is that it take sharp turns like a champ! The car hugs the curves and there is no need to worry about toppling over. It was simply the most exhilarating experience I have ever had.
The new Shelby Mustang GT350 may be the best street legal racing car ever produced. If you love racing and power, be sure to visit a Ford dealership to take a test drive.
It retails at $55,595.00

Don’t ever ever give up.
I am still reminiscing about my luxe vacay sailing the Greek Isles with Mediterranean Fitness Delights Fitness Voyage.
One of the great aspects of the yacht cruise with MDFVoyage2016 was the intense hikes with breathtaking views and guests access to their very own fitness trainer. The luxe life at its best.
For every yacht cruise, MDFVoyage employs a highly skilled fitness instructor to offer morning and evening fitness classes. For our voyage from Santorini to Kos our fitness instructor, Forrest of Forrest Fitness located in Providence, RI, instructed us in stretching, strength and cardio exercises.
In the am before morning breakfast, we engaged in stretching exercises with some yoga elements. These exercises got our blood flowing and prepared us for our daily excursions, especially the hikes.
In the evenings our fitness classes lasted between 1-1.5 hours and included lots of strength exercises and some cardio depending on how intense our daily hikes were. These evening fitness classes were quite lovely. Just imagine engaging in results driven fitness classes, bonding with other guests while the gorgeous Sun is setting over the Mediterranean. And the cool breeze from the sea wasn’t bad either! Love.
Towards the end of our voyage, we visited the beautiful island of Kalymnos. This island was a favorite because of its stunning architecture and colors.
See this island has heavy Italian influence as it was occupied by the Italians during World War II. The Italians influence can be seen through religion, architecture and culture.
The most difficult and challenging hike during our voyage was on Kalymnos. We hiked the 5 mile Italian Rd. This Italian path was built to connect the village of Pothia with Vathi. Before the road was built, the Italians had to travel a long way around the mountain to get to Pothia to Vathi and vice versa. With the Italian road, the Italians had a shorter route, but up the steep mountain and then down.
This hike was the most challenging and intense exercise activity I have ever done. The Italian Road is paved with very hard stone and is a straight steep climb up the mountain. There are no trees and little vegetation on the mountain and the Sun was super hot. I struggled during the climb up and had to stop a few times. But I did have plenty of water and support from my fellow hikers.
Halfway through, I told my fiancé and our fitness instructor Forrest, I wanted to go back, but I could not. I had to push on. But once at the peak of the mountain, all of the pain and fatigue was worth it. Look at the view!
Once we descended down the super steep mountain, we took a fun truck ride to town to have a calamari and beer party. It was much needed and such a treat! Yum!
The island of Kalymnos taught me so many things. It taught me how strong I was; how to keep going and to never give up when I want to give up the most; and sometimes you have to travel difficult roads to get to beautiful places.
Traveling with MDFVoyage is the best life adventure ever! Be sure to check out their schedule for the rest of 2016 and look out for voyages for Summer 2017 coming soon!
Disclaimer: MDFVoyage provided complimentary accommodations for this trip. However, I did pay for my travel expenses. All opinions are mine and 100% honest.
Never settle for less than you deserve.
It is almost time for the Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares fashion show, Atlanta’s most most philanthropic fashionable event. This fundraiser and fashion show raises money for the Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta and the Atlanta AIDS Fund (AAF). The event will once again be hosted at Phipps Plaza on Monday, August 29th. Last year Phipps was the perfect location and it was so fab! Love it!
Recently, a private Jeffrey Fashion Cares Patron Party kicked off the event on the ultra exclusive rooftop at SPANX headquarters in Buckhead. Guests sipped on a speciality hibiscus lemonade signature cocktail, sparking rosé and more as they noshed on petite turkey sliders, chilled vichyssoise, steak frites, and macaroons from Dennis Dean – A Catering Company.
Guests were decked out in their finest! I especially love the shoes, statement jewelry pieces and handbags of the guests. They were the perfect accessories for the beautiful attire and the photographer captured them perfectly.
Check it out!
Utterly luxe and fab!
Founded by arbiter of style and acclaimed retailer Jeffrey Kalinsky, Jeffrey Fashion Cares has grown into one of the largest combined AIDS and breast cancer benefits in the country. For more information, visit www.jeffreyfashioncares.com.
You only have one life to live. Live the life you want!
After spending the day and night in the harbor in Santorini with MDFVoyage, we embarked on our next adventure to the beautiful and peaceful island of Patmos.
Patmos is historically significant as it is the place where John of Patmos received the vision from God to write the Book of Revelations. As you can imagine, this is a significant pilgrimage destination for Christians and a fortresslike, 11th-century monastery dedicated to the saint overlooks the whitewashed houses of the hilltop capital, Hora (also known as Chora).
Our day started off with a hike to the sacred monastery. This monastery is located at the highest point of Patmos and the hike was a challenge! The only thing that kept me going was the absolute stunning views of Patmos.
Once we reached the monastery there were no pictures allowed! LOL! But the monastery is absolutely beautiful and serene and has many beautiful paintings and alters dedicated to St. John.
Once we viewed the monastery and visited the museum, we had a roof top refreshments with the most amazing view. Fab!
Once we made it back down the mountain, we ventured back to the yacht for swimming and a cooking class.
We made stuffed green peppers or Dolma for our dinner that night. The green peppers were so green and crisp! We stuffed the peppers with savory rice and fresh tomatoes. So yum!
More importantly we ate a very healthy and organic Mediterranean diet that included lots of fresh vegetables, delicious cheese, freshly caught fish, homemade breads, lentils and various proteins. Divas, believe me when I tell you this diet is the truth! It is delicious refreshing and good for the body. And yes my body noticed. I lost weight with this diet and my body felt lighter and I had more energy!
Check out some of our delicious meals!
After our cooking class, we swame in Paradisi Cove located on Patmos. This cove is simply stunning. The water is turquoise and a beautiful sea green. We all swam from the yacht to the cove to just sit, hear the ocean and take in the beauty of our surroundings. Heaven.
Afterwards we ventured back to the boat to have dinner, engage in evening fitness and relax.
Check back to read about our next adventure on the island of Leros and our fitness program!
