Luxetips Automobiles! New 2015 Acura RDX: Bigger, Better and Luxe!
Today I am thankful for income. We all want more money, but God always provides exactly what I need.
Recently, the luxe kiddies and I tested out the new Acura All Wheel Drive Tech Package RDX.
The new 2015 Acura RDX is a new and improved version of the original. It has more space, more cargo and an upgraded tech package.
The first thing I noticed about the new RDX was it was much larger than the previous models. Looking at the car from the front it looks as large as a MDX, Acura’s larger 7 seat SUV. The RDX is just as spacious at the MDX. The only thing it is missing is the 3rd row.
The new RDX has a new wide and sleek design. It has a moonroof, 18 inch allow wheels, Xenon HID Headlights and one of my favorite feature: turn indicators on the door mirrors.
The RDX has one of the most luxurious interiors I have experienced. The vehicle has preforated butta leather seats. They are so comfy and luxurious. It definitely makes for a relaxing ride. In addition, the new RDX has more elevated seating and less blind spots for a clear view. When driving I could see the entire road with no problem. It also comes standard with heated seats. Lastly, it has a spacious interior…more spacious than many small luxury SUVs. Three large adults can easily fit in the back seat with ample leg room. As a bonus, the spring-loaded rear seat can be dropped for an additional 76.9 cu-ftroom. Fabulous!
I mean look at all of this cargo space!
I knew the new RDX had more room when I loaded the luxe kids in the vehicle. Luxe son who is nearly as tall as me had plenty of leg room. He and luxe baby had enough space in between them that they did not have to touch each other. For the entire week, I did not hear: “Stop touching me!” LOL!
Of course Acura is known for their innovation in technology. I have owned an Acura MDX for the past 5 years and the technology is always on point. With the new Acura RDX, Acura offers the same wonderful tech package with a few more enhancements.
The Acura Navigation system works like a charm. It gives accurate turn by turn directions and always calculates the fastest and less traffic congested route. The AcuraLink real-time traffic and weather system gives you up to date info on traffic and bad weather. This is so helpful in Atlanta with our traffic and the topsy turvy weather. The RDX also comes with Bluetooth HandsFreeLink that links with your smart phone. Once linked, you immediately have access to all of your music, phone contacts and other smart phone apps. In addition, you can use simple voice commands to operate HandsFree Link so you can focus on driving and not fiddling with controls.
This was by far my favorite thing about the RDX. The performance was insane! Seriously, this SUV drove like a car. It hugged curves, accelerated with no problem and was so easy to handle. I never felt like I was driving a SUV. Love, love, love.
The RDX has 237 horsepower with a V-TEC VCM II V6 Engine. It also comes with:
AWD with Intelligent Control, which optimizes traction and fuel efficiency,
6 Speed Automatic Transmission with Sequential Sportshift,
When carrying precious cargo, luxe moms want a vehicle that offer the highest safety ratings. The new RDX comes with:
Driver and Front Passenger Airbags,
Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor
Side-Impact Door Beams,
New Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS), this system utilizes sensors in the front passenger’s seatback to detect if the occupant is a child or small-statured adult. If such an occupant is leaning into the side airbag’s deployment path, the side airbag will be deactivated until they resume a safer, more upright position. Nice!
The luxe kids and I had a ball driving the new Acura RDX. We even had a chance to get out and explore some Atlanta landmarks in the vehicle.
The new 2015 Acura RDX retails starting at $39,995.
