Luxetips Automobiles! Vintage 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible
Forgiveness is good for the soul.
The other day, the luxe kids and I saw a beautiful turquoise 1965 convertible Ford Mustang and I simply sighed. I have loved the 1965 convertible Ford Mustang since I was an 18 year old college student. What can I say? I love cars, but especially classic cars. I blame it on my Dad: a true car lover.
The Ford Mustang debuted in 1965 as a sports car powered by a 170 cid six cylinder with a pair of V8’s as options. The late 1965 Ford Mustang Engine Options included:
- 200 c.i. @ 120 h.p. w/9.2:1 compression and a one barrel carburetor. Engine code ‘T’
- 289 c.i. @ 200 h.p. w/9.3:1 compression and two barrel carburetor. Engine code ‘C’
- 289 c.i. @ 225 h.p. w/10.0:1 compression and a four barrel carburetor. Engine code ‘A’
- * 289 c.i. @ 271 h.p. w/10.5:1 compression and a four barrel carburetor. Engine code ‘K’
Of course the 1965 Ford Mustang’s body style was like none other. It was purposefully designed to have a Ferrari like front end and heavy-looking like the Maserati. It has 4 bucket seats, leather, and a floor mounted shifter. It weighs no more than 2500 pounds.
This car is just a joy to look at and I can imagine so much fun to drive. It is on my must haves. One day.
The average re-sale price for a 1965 convertible Mustang is around $26k.
