Luxetips Events! Dîner en Blanc Atlanta & Moët Ice Impérial: A Night To Remember!
“Walk Like There Are Three Men Behind You.” Words to live by via Oscar de la Renta. RIP.
Last Thursday night, Atlanta had the privilege of hosting the world’s largest dinner party, Dîner en Blanc in partnership with Moët Ice Impérial.
Millennium Gate Park in the Atlantic Station area of Atlanta, welcomed close to a thousand Atlantans to the event’s exciting debut in the city. Dîner en Blanc is the world’s first viral event, part impromptu picnic, part mystery dinner. Launched in France in 1988, the storied Paris tradition attracts more than 15,000 people every year.
This event was simply magical. There were beautiful people dressed in all white, with gorgeous hats, shoes, and accessories. People brought their own table and chairs and decorated their tables with GORGEOUS place settings.
The DJ was simply incredible. He played très chic French music and then transitioned into 80-90s pop with a twist of hip-hop. The fancy crowd made a dance floor on the lawn and danced the night away after enjoying their dinner and Moët Ice Impérial.
The très chic picnic takes over landmark public spaces in cities around the country, but to preserve spontaneity and secrecy, only reveals the locations at the last minute to the delight of thousands of attendees. It’s a magical moment in time — from different points throughout each city, thousands dressed in white arrive at the same moment, at the same place. People bring their own food to share with friends, often spending weeks designing menus and preparing some of the most sumptuous and creative repasts imaginable. Dîner en Blanc has also become a popular venue for people to exhibit their unique fashion style, showcase their taste for design and share their gastronomic delights.
This year, guests made a toast to the evening with champagne dressed for the occasion. Moët Ice Impérial, fitted in a striking white bottle to complement the evening’s all-white dress code, joined Dîner en Blanc as the event’s official champagne, with last Thursday night’s event marking its official introduction to the Atlanta market. As the world’s first-ever champagne created specifically to be enjoyed over ice, Moët Ice Impérial breaks the tradition of champagne – in style. Partygoers dined, sipped and posed for photos in the Moët photo booth and in front of the over seven-foot-tall champagne tower.

About Dîner en Blanc
The worldwide phenomenon known as Dîner en Blanc® will celebrate its 26th anniversary this year! Launched by François Pasquier and a handful of friends in 1988, the Paris Dîner en Blanc now attracts more than 10,000 people each year. What began as a “friends and word-of-mouth only” event has grown into an international epicurean phenomenon on five continents. While the technology behind the event may have changed over the years, the principles fuelling this fantastic event have not: diners continue to gather at a secret location for the sole purpose of sharing a high-quality meal with good friends in one of their city’s most beautiful locations. Dîner en Blanc International, based in Montreal, is responsible for developing this secret posh picnic in over 50 cities by the end of 2014. Each event is headed by passionate local organizers who fell in love with the concept and wanted to bring it to their city, giving this rendezvous a local flair.
