Luxetips Travel: Beauty and History on Rhodes Island, Greece
Life is what you make it. Make it fabulous!
I have just returned from my 9 day trip to Greece and Turkey.
Per my previous post, I took this trip to Greece via The Mediterranean Delights Fitness Voyage. This voyage includes sailing the Mediterranean Sea and visiting several Greek islands along the way.
I flew from Athens to Rhodes Island via Aegean Airlines. I have never boarded a plane on the tarmac and it was pretty exciting.
We boarded the boat in the port on Rhodes Island. While in Rhodes, we had an amazing opportunity to tour the island and learn a bit of the island’s fascinating history.

The island of Rhodes is known for its preservation of Medieval architecture and history. Led by our #MDFVoyage2015 tour guide, Ali, our first activity was to walk from our boat to the Palace of the Grand Master.
The Palace of the Grand Master is one of the oldest castles and in-tact moats in all of Europe. It is majestic!
We also strolled along the preserved cobble stoned, Street of the Knights. This street housed inns and establishments that catered to Medieval Knights.
Further down the Street of the Knights is the Museum Square. There stands the Hospital of the Knights, which houses the Archaeological Museum.
Towards the center of Old Town there are lots of restaurants, bars and shopping. This area was lively and fun!

After our visit in Rhodes, we boarded the boat and set sail for the Island of Symi. Check back to tomorrow to see and learn of my adventures there!
