Luxetips Travel! Downtown Napa: Luxe Food, Wine, Craft Beer and Art: Luxury Redefined

Hello Divas!

We only have one life to live.  Know who you are and live the life you want!

A few days ago I had the pleasure to bask in the stunning beauty, wine, food and culture of Downtown Napa.

As you luxe divas know, Napa Valley is home to some of the best wines in the world.  And I tasted a lot of wine while I was in Napa and it is true: the wine is exquisite.

However there is more to Napa than just wine.  I discovered that Napa has amazing craft beers, organic farm to table food (some of the best food I ever tasted) and world reknowned art.  The culture of Downtown Napa is very luxe casual.  It is a walking town so you will see residents and visitors alike strolling the riverfront, shopping in luxe boutiques, visiting galleries and of course indulging in the many fabulous tasting rooms.

When I arrived in Downtown Napa I simply took in the beauty of this lovely city.  The skies were blue and it is such a beautiful town.  Check it out!

Next we ventured to Vermeil Wines, owned by winning NFL coach Dick Vermeil, to meet the lovely Mayor of Napa, Jill Techel.  We also had an amazing lunch catered by Ca’Momi, an authentic Italian restaurant.

Ca’Momi has the absolute best canollis I ever had.  OMG!

Of course we enjoyed a tasting of Vermeil Wines and the lunch was so fresh!  I simply love that Napa restaurants make it a priority to provide farm to table meals.  The food is rich and so fresh!

Mayor Jill Techel gave us a brief history on the city of Napa and the wine region. For more than 150 years, Downtown Napa has served as the center of government and commerce for Napa Valley.  Downtown Napa is located along side the Napa River and boasts a population of 79,000!

Mayor Techel also gave us details of the city’s expansion plans which includes additional luxurious lodging options for Napa visitors, opening of the new luxe diggs of the Culinary Institute of America, and public art projects for the enjoyment of visitors and residents.

After a break, we headed to another wine tasting at Vintner’s Collective.

First I have to say that at Vitner’s Collective, I had some of the best white and rose wines ever.  Swoon!

The rose Malbecs and the Longfellow Chardonnay were my favorites.  Plus we were served wines by this gorgeous vintner.  Love it!

Next we walked to Napa Valley Bistro for an amazing dinner!

Napa Valley Bistro serves global cuisine.  There are American favorites such as St. Louis short ribs and lamb burgers; Mexican favorites such as empanadas and Asian dishes such as veggie spring rolls and Chinese Chicken Salad.

This time we took a break from wines and enjoyed cocktails.  Napa Valley Bistro specializes in craft cocktails and I had the most delicious Lavender Lemon Drop. Yum!

The appetizers were delicious!  We had calamari, veggie egg rolls and the best shitake mushroom flatbread. So good!

As an entree, I had the salmon.  Words can not express how great it was! It was perfect.

We topped off our meal with shared dessert and this Scharffen Berger Warm Chocolate Fudge Cake.  It simply melts in your mouth.

After dinner, we ended our night bowling at the super luxe The Meritage Resort and Spa.  We bowled and was able to catch the historic win of the Chicago Cubs on the multiple screens throughout the bowling alley.  There is more to come on The Meritage Resort and Spa later.  So stay tuned!

My first day in Napa was simply divine!  However, my second day in Napa was even better.  Check back tomorrow for details on my luxe stay at the Napa Valley Marriott Resport and Spa and our tour of the Culinary Institute of America.
