  1. They are Beautiful sister Titi and Miko that opened Miss Jessies Salon in 1997! To help women like me cater to curly hair.

  2. Titi and Miko where born to a Japanese mother and African-American father As a result of their parent’s busy schedule there was little time to care for the girl’s hair. The sisters eventually began caring for their own hair… their experience eventually led to the 2004 introduction of the Miss Jessie’s Products.

  3. The sisters developed their own line of products since they couldn’t find salons that would care for their dark, curly, gorgeous hair!

  4. the line was named after their ingenious grandmother who would send them home with concoctions she made out of items like mayonaise and packaged in jars…too cute! my future mixed children are definitely goin to be miss jessie’s users!

  5. -Titi and Miko are Multi-racial of Japanese and African American.

    -Opened their Salon in 1997

-Miss Jessies products were introduced in 2004

-They have over 20yrs of experience with curls.

Also, I wear my hair natural and currently use the Curly Meringue and I love it!!!!!!

  6. Great giveaway! 🙂

    Some things I discovered:

-Titi and Miko(the owners) are half Japanese, half African American.

-They opened Miss Jessie’s Salon in 1997.

-In 2004 Miss Jessie’s Products were introduced!

  7. Sisters, Titi and Miko were born to a Japanese mother and an African-American father and had heads of gorgeous diversity as the result. Due to the lack of knowledge by many as to how to care for multi-ethnic hair, Titi and Miko had to learn to “look cute” on their own! Thus began their salon which became a mecca for women with natural and naturally curly hair of ALL types! In 2004, they launched their hair care line, Miss Jessie’s (lovingly named after their grandmother) that catered to the specific needs of natural and naturally curly hair. Never more would people refer to their hair as “wiry, frizzy and unruly”! Instead, they showed the masses that hair of ALL textures could be beautiful, soft, springy, coily, NATURALLY curly hair…proving the point that if you want something done right, sometimes you gotta do it yourself!

I absolutely LOVE this story and would LOVE to try their products! I have been that frizzy haired kid who had to learn on my own how to “look cute” when no one else seemed to know what to do with my head! I am a strong believer that healthy hair is good hair and I would love to try products on my hair that will put my hair’s natural beauty on display! Plus, you can’t help but to feel a little indulgent when using products with ‘pudding’ and ‘meringue’ in their names! lol!

  8. I didn’t know that Miko went to FIT in NYC. And it was interesting to read that she first got a relaxer after transferring to a “white” school and wanting to fit in. Boy can I relate. I just hope my kids don’t have to worry about that. Thanks for offering the giveaway! -Maria

  9. They are common sense people, can identify a problem and solve it – the famous egg and mayo treatment

  10. Born to an African American father and a Japanese mother, Titi and Miko had a head full of hair that was neither straight nor kinky with a combination of different textures.

  11. I love what they are doing. And I’m glad they’re developing their own product line, which is so wise.

  12. I like the style suggestions they give. They work well for relaxed and natural hair! -Chamele137

  13. I admire Titi and Miko for creating their hair care line specifically to address the needs of their customers. That customer-centric business model together with a high demand in the market for products for natural hair and naturally curly hair seem to have created a perfect storm of success. It’s exciting to see how far they’ve come!

  14. Titi and Miko, Miss Jessie’s granddaughters opened their salon in 1997, specializing in curly kinky and wavy hair.

  18. The founders, Titi and Miko, learned to care for their hair and be creative from their grandmother and so they named their salon and products after her.

I have tried Miss Jessie’s products – I use the meringue and also the creme de la curl shampoo. they are just wonderful and really help tame my naturally curly frizzy hair.

  19. I sooo need to win these products. I’ve got two heads that desperately need Miss Jessie’s help.
Let’s see Titi and Miko opened the salon in 1997 and launched the product line in 2004.
Miko enrolled in beauty school the day after she graduated from FIT and the Silkener procedure is only performed at Miss Jessie’s salon in Brooklyn.
    Whew!!!!

  20. To all Miss Jessie’s Salon Clients please be advise that the “Silkener” not the Strecth Silkening Creme is a chemical perm named Affirm perm. Do not waste your time or your money when you can do it yourself at home. These ladies are taking you for your money. Again the “Silkener” is a perm not a texterizer that you can buy at your local area beauty supply store. Do not waste your time with no stupid consultation for $75 because your hair will not benifit in the end. You will keep spending $300 and up on a perm that they claim they created. So please be aware before you make an appointment and the same mistake that I made.

    Speaking honestly hair diaster.

  21. Miss Jessies Frauds!!! The so call SILKENER is actually AFFIRM PERM instead of paying three to six hundred dollars this product can be purchased online for under forty dollars don’t be tricked. My curly hair is now straight I can’t believe it.
